January 26, 2000 DENALI ANNOUNCES RESIGNATION OF CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICER JANUARY 26, 2000 - HOUSTON, TEXAS - Denali Incorporated (NASDAQ:DNLI)
today announced the resignation of Edward de Boer, President and
Chief Executive Officer. Denali's Board of Directors named the
Company's Chairman, Richard Volk, as President and Chief
Executive Officer. The Denali Board stated, "We are very
pleased that Mr. Volk has moved into the position of CEO. He
brings with him a broad range of skills and experience to help
in the execution of our restructure, turnaround and growth
strategies." Mr. Volk has been Denali's Chairman since
March 1999 and has approximately 27 years experience in senior
management positions. For the past 9 years, Mr. Volk has had a
consulting practice that specializes in the formulation and
implementation of long-term strategies for a varied client base.
Prior to forming his consulting practice, Mr. Volk was Group
General Manager of BHP Petroleum's Australia Division in
Melbourne, Australia, from 1989 to 1991 and President and CEO of
BHP Petroleum (Americas) from 1985 to 1989. From 1983 to 1985,
he was Chairman and CEO of Energy Reserves Group and its
President and CEO from 1973 to 1982. Mr. Volk has a petroleum
engineering degree from the Colorado School of Mines and a J.D.
from the University of Denver. Additionally, Robert B. Bennett
has been named Executive Vice President of Denali to assist Mr.
Volk with corporate strategies as well as assisting Denali's
operational Vice Presidents, Lee Orr, (North America) and Hans
Siers, (Europe) with operational and marketing issues. Denali
Incorporated is a global provider of fluid handling products,
specializing in corrosion-resistant applications in process
industries such as: chemical, power, pulp and paper, petroleum
equipment, and water/wastewater. The Company manufactures
engineered fiberglass-composite tanks, vessels, and piping
systems, as well as steel, aboveground storage tanks. The
